TBOLI CULTURE AND TRADITION

At the entrance on 1st and 2nd falls, you can see shops that contains souvenir which were hand made by the people. They also have rentals of the T’nalak traditional clothing that costs only about 50 pesos which is absolutely good for taking breathtaking pictures within the nature. It’s actually nice if you rent and try to wear even just once in a lifetime the T’boli traditional costume.

T’nalak is a hand-woven fabric made by the T’boli tribes. This traditional cloth plays a very important role in T’boli culture. The T’nalak clothing is made from abaca fiber that grows from seed to sky in just a span of 8 months. The sacred T’boli designs are inspired by their dreams (they literally sleep and see the patterns in their dreams). The inspiration for the T’nalak comes from the late grandmother named Lang Dulay. It is said that when Land Dulay dreams about the design, people of the dream weavers starts to make tnalak clothing.
